Submitting a Nights Away Notification (NaN) through the new system is easy!
All camps in 2025 onwards must go through the new membership system.
Remember to submit this at least 7 days before a camp for approval
Go to Scouts.org.uk
In the top right, click ‘Sign in’
Sign in into the system
- First time on? Click Forgot Password and type your email.
Click My Membership
- Top Tip, make this page a bookmark, easily accessible then
- https://membership.scouts.org.uk/
Click Programme Support, then Nights away notifications, then Apply for night away
Fill out all of the details, similar to the old paper copies
- All adults attending must be on the membership system
- In activities, paste a rough plan or upload further down in supporting documents
- Ensure you have an Intouch name and contact number as a minimum
Submit
The NaN team will approve or reject based on the details.
- We check the necessary training, the plan matches the RAs submitted and the adults attending

Top Tips for Nights Away completion
Here are some top tips to ensure a good NaN, which will be further communicated out later this month:
🔢 Entering the right number of people in the membership system staying overnight, especially adults
🙎🙍🙎 Entering in all your adults staying overnight, can’t find them in the system, let us know. They must be on the system to stay overnight
🚂 The correct training is important, so is a valid disclosure from Scouts. Check this before you submit, we can’t approve without it! Safety and safeguarding is mandatory, bar NMND, which is highly recommended
🥾 A rough camp plan is key to ensure you have the relevant RAs in place. Eg A walk in town differs to a hike in the Lake District, so your RA would reflect this
🥘 Your Risk Assessment should be detailed enough to cover the Nights Away elements and activities. Some recently have been missing food prep / allergies etc. Activity RAs should be attached (eg Archery)
📞 An InTouch name and number who is off-site helps Tracey contact in case needed and ensures you have a process
